Me
I navigate poetry and prose with the same breath and work that I put into self-reflection. It can be clunky and ugly to put those parts under a microscope. Like poetry, I need work and practice.
Me I have an atheist blood Of this, I am positive Running deep in the wells and gullies of my being Is me, A chasm Blink twice to the cosmos While I doubt the double helix As a double double, double coffee Pours into a cauldron of me -An experiment unseen I am the cells of dance An albumin purse of a future dependant Longing to walk My stretched hands hold paper in black light For you to see the sunrise I will break bread in the dandelions, sink in the bog Of equations, and turn the light off for the night
